The Software Engineering Research Group (GIIS) of the University of Oviedo is composed by 9 researchers, headquartered at the University Campus of Gijón (Spain).

The research lines focus on methodologies and tools toward software quality, and they are particularly specialized in software testing. These research lines in software testing are summarized below:

Software Testing for Database and XML based Applications: assessment of coverage and effectiveness of test cases and test design.
Testing Service Oriented Applications (SOA): compositions of Web services (WS-BPEL) and Web transactions.
Automated generation of test data, test oracles and experimental validation.

Regarding technology transfer, the following services are offered:

Implementation of software testing methodologies, techniques and process improvement.
Specialized training in software test management and design.
